lol, probably the director or someone

and yeah you're correct it was James Marsden. The director of the first two X-Men films left to do Superman Returns and took James with him. He was Louis Lanes husband. So they killed him off on X-Men 3. They both filmed around the same time. They won't tell you that, but that's the reason. Cyclops is one of the leaders of the X-Men it was a dumb move..but hey, James wanted to go so they killed off his character. Trader

so basically he turned down x-3 to go do a shitty movie like superman.....

yeah. Maybe they offered more money or maybe he didn't wanna play that role again. Bryan Singer left X-Men to do Superman too and he took James with him.

Well I can understand Marsden wanting to get out from behind the red optic lens and get his real face out there.

But Superman Returns really was a horrid piece of film
